Pride Lacrosse Club Mission Statement

  • Pleasanton Pride Girls Lacrosse Club is a fully sanctioned Northern California Junior Lacrosse Association Club
  • Our Club is a volunteer nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting girls youth lacrosse in Pleasanton and the surrounding communities  
  • Our Club’s mission is to create a life-long love of the game by teaching core skills, game strategies, and promoting exemplary sportsmanship. Through our coaching staff and volunteers, the Club will encourage players to develop a positive attitude, self-discipline, respect for others, and a commitment to the success of their team and club.  
  • PGLC will strive to make participation in the sport of lacrosse affordable, safe and a positive experience for players of all levels, coaches and parents.

8U Mission and Purpose

  • 8U Mission: The primary goal of 8U is development and fun; we strive to teach basic individual skills & basic team concepts for beginning players.  Having fun while learning the fundamentals of lacrosse is a priority at this level
  • Roster size: 8-10, in alignment with the intended experience for the players
  • Register with friends: The club will drive to accommodate friend requests in alignment with the goal of a fun and positive experience
  • Playing time: All girls are given equal playing time regardless of skill. The goal is to develop skills, understanding of rules, and the love for the game. There is no score keeping at this level
  • Number of teams: Roster size and coach availability will be the driving forces for team creation 

10U Mission and Purpose

  • 10U Mission: Continue to develop the individual player through continued learning of the game and development of  stick work, ground balls, passing and catching. Basic elements of a team, based on principles of offense, defense and transition is introduced at this level.  Score is kept and team ranking is tracked at this level. Beginners welcome, will be a great experience for all players.
  • Roster size: 12-14, in alignment with the intended experience for the players.
  • Register with friends: The club will attempt to accommodate friend requests and other sport schedules, if we’re able to do so while keeping the teams equal.  No coach requests or Daisy chain player requests.
  • Playing time: : All girls are given equal playing time regardless of skill and experience. While score is kept and teams are ranked, the primary goal is to develop skills and the love for the game.

12U Mission and Purpose

  • 12U Mission: First year teams split by skill with an A team and as many B teams per registration numbers.  At this level, we will help the girls understand the tryout process and prepare them for high school lacrosse. Girls will continue to develop as they start to work on next level lacrosse. Checking, passing, defense formation, offensive plays. We will strive to engage the player to help build a higher lacrosse IQ for themselves and their team.  Beginning players welcome
  • Roster size: 18-20, in alignment with the intended experience for the players.
  • Playing time: Playing time can be dependent on practice and game attendance/participation.
  • Team weighting: As a result of the player evaluations, an A team and equal B teams are formed.  

14U Mission and Purpose

 

  • 14U Mission: 14U will be an extension of what the girls have learned and prepare them for lacrosse at the next level in high school. We will continue to develop their Lacrosse IQ. Beginning players welcome.
  • Roster size: 18-20, in alignment with the intended experience for the players
  • Playing time: Playing time can be dependent on practice and game attendance/participation.
  • Level of teams: A goal of our program is to have the ability to fieldmultiple teams at the 14U level comprised of 7th and 8th graders and age eligible 6th graders.
